Group Structure
NextGen Rochester is completely member-led and operates with an Advisory Committee and three subcommittees. Many members volunteer on these committees to enhance their involvement in NextGen, however committee service is not a member requirement.
Advisory Committee
Serves as the liaison between the NextGen Rochester membership and Rochester Area Community Foundation. This committee formalizes the policies of NextGen Rochester and ensures that the activities of the subcommittees operate in accordance with the group’s mission and Rochester Area Community Foundation Initiative’s guidelines.
Grants Committee
Researches and nominates the candidates to receive grants from the NextGen Rochester Fund. This group oversees the grantmaking process, performs due diligence, and reports on the impact of past grants.
Education Committee
Plans educational programs that inform members about current community issues and strategies in philanthropy. This committee connects NextGen Rochester members to the nonprofits that serve the greater Rochester community; the people they serve, the needs they have, and the gaps they face.
Membership & Marketing Committee
Builds and stewards a vital, diverse and satisfied membership – one in which members feel connected to one another and the community. This committee is responsible for hosting two events annually; one recruitment event and one annual meeting for the membership. This committee will also develop marketing and communications strategies to increase NextGen Rochester’s visibility in the community.
